The North Carolina Maritime Museum provides visitors a glimpse of local and regional maritime history through exhibits, watercraft displays, restoration projects, and skills workshops. Located in historic downtown Beaufort, the museum sits just beside the water. Regional boat building and early commercial fishing are two of the featured exhibits and the museum puts on more than 300 public programs annually including nature trips and boat building classes.
